Styled Shoot-Lavender Brushstrokes -Nelspruit Styled Shoot
I once again enjoyed working with talented Local suppliers right here in the heart of the Lowveld……Isn’t this just the perfect setting for the perfect dreamy wedding…….Whispers of Romance…..
Antoinette from Coral Events writes……If I have to be very honest, not much was needed to be done in order to make this table beautiful in a setting such as this. The aim was really for everything to blend in with the lavender field. We didn’t want to create any distraction from the lavender, instead we chose to embrace our surroundings. The setting is soft and natural, this brought us to the name of our shoot. Not sure if it was the calming effects of the lavender or if it was the gentle sunset resting on our skin, but everything that day was like a soft romantic whisper. Being a sucker for detail, we added a few lavender elements on the table as well as the jewellery. The other inspiration was the word whisper. This is where the marble and water marks came to play. There is something about the marble effect that is so effortless however makes quite the statement. This seemed to inspire everyone on our team. From the nail art and the cake, to our stationary and crockery, all of this allowed the colours to flow into one another.
This shoot took place in the beautiful lavender field at Alevi Farm Lodge. The elements on the table were marble plates, glass cutlery, glass candle stick holders, silver antique desert trays, flower pots and antique ottomans where used as chairs.
Setting a table is a form of art and it should be an expression of yourself. Attention to detail is what will make your guest feel special and welcomed. More often we hear of clients wanting to cut down costs on the name cards and thank you favours. The truth is, that these small things make the difference. The trick is to have a few basic elements on the table and then one or two surprises. For example, the table cloth and serviettes are fairly plain but, it’s the marble plate and the glass cutlery that makes you look twice. The flowers lends a soft and effortless colouring to the arrangement and then you have a subtle, but cheeky runner to the side. Another example is the cake that has an elementary top and bottom tier, but a violet marble design in the middle. The food should also speak to the table, we decided on the oysters to compliment the fresh pastels on the table.
